Dear Colleagues and Friends
We are very sorry to inform you that because of unstable situation caused by coronavirus, we must postpone our symposiumAlone Together Again to September 2020, between 17th and 19th.
The decision was made by the Rector of the University of Szczecin who followed detailed instructions given by the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education. The situation in Poland has changed quickly in recent days and we are no longer able to guarantee your safety in our country, and cannot predict how the degree of risk will develop in our region. We have received many emails from you expressing your anxiety, too. It was a very difficult decision to postpone but, we think, it was the only reasonable decision.
We would like to propose that if you have paid for the event, you either ‘save’ your conference fees for the Autumn symposium within the Alone Together Again account, or we can return your fees now or at a later point in case your attendance is not possible in the Autumn. We are also aware that some of you have already bought your flight tickets, and we hope that in the current circumstances, the airlines will allow you to move the bookings or return your money. We will also – of course – be happy to work with the hotels here: we hope they, too, will be flexible given the situation around the world.
